Chapter One. Flashback September 2010
We started in September of 2010 just weeks after the iPod nano 6th Generation model was announced.
In a dimly lit office, on the outskirts of Toronto, our small team combined our passion for technology and hunger to design to create one of the top selling and most widely recognized brands in the iPod accessory market today. Working tirelessly on manufacturing, distributing, marketing, and plotting, while missing meals to assemble bands and set up shop, we created the very first iPod nano watch band that would be featured in Apple Stores.
The Q Collection was groundbreaking: integrated, seamless and thin. Equipped with silicone bands in a variety of colors and a patented iPod clip system unlike any other, the Q Collection allowed users to take their beloved 6th Generation iPod nano and strap it to their wrists as a secure, fashionable and modern wrist watch.
Our small company grew right before our eyes. By September of 2011, our bands were a top selling accessory on Apple.com and we secured worldwide distribution with a presence in Apple Stores, BestBuy, Target, Mircoage and Fry’s to name a few. A steady buzz generated around us as we received glowing reviews from MacWorld.com, Macbreakweekly.com and MSNBC.com. All the while providing fans a wide array of watch band styles ranging from leather, silicone and stainless steel watch bands to polycarbonate and nylon watch straps.
Flashforward, September 2012
Wednesday, September 12, 2012 (two years after we went into production with our clip system) saw the release of the freshly re-designed 7th generation iPod nano and confirmed the end of wearing your iPod nano as a watch.
