Motivation, Sweat and iPod nano Watch Straps

by Ashley Tredenick on February 25, 2013 at 03:40PM 0

Health and fitness technology is not only alive and well, it’s ahead of the curve...

If we learned one thing at CES this year, it was that emerging technology for health and wellness is going to drive markets in 2013 and beyond – an idea supported by PC Mag. For the first time in history, obesity now outweighs hunger. The demand for technology to aid in the wellness process is now higher than ever. As people crave ways to make their daily workout easier and more enjoyable, tech companies all over the world are answering the call with interesting and innovative products.

kubxlab™ iPod nano Watch Strap

Wearable devices that measure, track or monitor bodily functions are huge focal point of the fitness tech industry at current. These types of devices range from wearing iPods on designer watch straps allowing users to listen to music while running, to wearable monitors that communicate with other devices in the home. If 2013 is going to be billed as the year of mobile, then health focused technology is the ultimate space: mobile humans using mobile devices to measure their mobility.

From iPod nano Watches to Frequency Detecting Apps...

by Ashley Tredenick on January 17, 2013 at 02:45PM 1

Remember the time when a watch was just a watch… If you were wearing one, you knew what time it was. Then along came cell phones and watches were out the window. But, in comes the Apple® iPod and travel without music dwindles to a rarity. Shrink its size to the iPod nano, and next thing you know, watches are back! iPod nano watches, of course!

In today’s “need to know, now” culture, we are constantly looking for ways to quench our insatiable thirst for information. As technology improves, so does our reliance on it to provide us with on-demand information. With the advent of QR (quick response) codes, we are able to quickly scan a fun looking barcode and be sent to websites and social media profiles.

With an iPod nano watch on your wrist, apps, music, and photos are less than an arm’s length away. If you thought it couldn’t get any cooler, then listen up, because the game has just changed! A tech startup out of London has created a similar on-demand information delivery system, but using sounds inaudible to human ears.

UntapTV, a new app created by a startup by the same name, has launched what is sure to be the first app of its kind. Unlike similar... Read more…

iPod nano Watch Turns Two as SMS Celebrates its 20th Birthday!

by Ashley Tredenick on December 27, 2012 at 01:14PM 1

Six billon SMS (short message service) messages are sent every day in the United States of America. That’s over 2.2 trillion a year! With so many accomplishments in its short lifetime, people might have trouble believing that the text message is only 20 years old! Even younger are the kubxlab™ iPod nano watch strap collections that you know and love, which reached age two in September of this year, 2012.

But, let’s talk SMS! Leading the pack in innovative products, software engineer Neil Papwork sent the first ever text message on December 3, 1992. All it read was, “Merry Christmas.”

Since then text messaging has slowly taken over large chunks of society’s day, gaining popularity because of the easy to use function and compatibility with the smartest of modern phones and oldest of flip phones.

While text messaging has gone on to revolutionize the way we communicate, it has faced its fair share of criticism. Many experts in the field of communication cite SMS for the breakdown in interpersonal communication, while state officials blame a large number of car accidents on people sending and receiving texts while driving.

Yet, text messaging has matured into a $150 billion-a-year industry and there’s no telling how it will evolve in the future! kubxlab™ took the Apple® nano 6th Gen to the next life stage by introducing iPod nano watch bands to fit… What do you think is next for SMS?

Let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment below, or reaching out on Facebook and Twitter.

Music on your iPod nano Watch to Enhance Sport Performance

by Ashley Tredenick on May 08, 2012 at 04:14PM 0

Do you find that having music blasting makes your workout more intense? Did you know that listening to your favorite songs on your iPod nano watch before a match gets you pumped up, making you perform stronger?

Research released by The Sport Journal states, “In the hotbed of competition, where athletes are often very closely matched in ability, music has the potential to elicit a small but significant effect on performance.”

Studies show that playing music during sports or exercise “can narrow attention, in turn diverting the mind from sensations of fatigue.” And get this: “synchronization of music with repetitive exercise is associated with increased levels of work output.”

Our Q and Q2 Collection silicone watch bands are great for the gym. We highly recommend both Collections for active people. The bands are flexible, lightweight and moisture resistant. Plus, the iPod nano has a built in pedometer so you can track your steps, distance and calories while playing tennis, jogging or just walking throughout the day.

Music is the best motivator so the next time you’re feeling less than enthusiastic about hitting the gym, the court, or the field, be sure you’ve got your  iPod watch and a great work out playlist.

Tips for Creating a Great nano Playlist:

·      Choose songs with a tempo between 120 and 140 beats-per-minute

·      Choose liberating and energetic songs that get you working harder

·      Choose songs that are fun! (You won’t even realize you’re working out!)

Here are some favorites from our iPod watch playlist:

·      “Who Run the World” by Beyonce

·      “Midnight City” by M83

·      “Call... Read more…
