Innovative Product Christmas Tree: Technology Gone Too Far?
The holiday season is best known for it’s stunning decorations like the Yule Log, mistletoe, and Christmas tree. But this year, in the city center of Brussels, government officials have replaced the tree with an 82-foot high tech sculpture that is shaped like a Christmas tree and colored green. Have the elected officials of Belgium gone too far by replacing the traditional Christmas tree with a neon green innovative product structure?
Many citizens are outraged by this turn of events and have started online petitions calling for its immediate removal. With over 25,000 signatures, the town’s mayor’s office defended their tree by saying it helps, “to show off the 'avant-garde character' of Brussels by blending the modern and the traditional, to produce something new and different.”

Cool Accessories Dress Up the Holidays
In 2008, Sharp decorated the Christmas tree in Grand Central Station with televisions as cool accessories rather then using traditional ornaments. YouTube user, Billiam5, coordinated a high tech light show to a Trans-Siberan Orchestra melody around his cubicle at work. You have to see it to believe it!
Then there’s a USB powered “Snowbot Robot” that sits on a desk all throughout the holidays. With an LED eye that flashes in various colors, this decoration is as high tech as they come.

Should Christmas stick to it’s traditional roots, or evolve with the times and become technologically revolutionized? Tell us what you think by leaving us a comment below, or reaching out on Facebook and Twitter.
